Halloween babies

Sunday, October 29th, 2006

Our street is a baby factory! There’s no less than 7 babies under 2 on our street, and a bunch more within 1 block! Our neighbors Libby and Sal had a halloween bash for the kids on the street. It was manic but we had a blast.

Mom the chef naturally dressed the boys in the cutest foodie costumes in the world. They weren’t too happy about it:

They slept through the night!

If there’s one thing that every new parent is very in-tune with, its their baby’s sleep patterns. We’ve been trying a few different techniques lately and finally, for the first time, Isaac and Owen slept all the way through the night!

I don’t know if it was the moon, halloween just around the corner, the unusually warm weather or just dumb luck. But they did it, an honest sleep all through the night! Leslie and I were doing our typical ’sleeping with one eye open’ waiting for the 4am scream-fest (it’s been a party at 4am all last week). But they didn’t make a peep. A bit of fussing at 5am (probably Isaac), but he quickly soothed himself back to a slumber.

Leslie and I woke up around 6:30, looked at each other, and both had a moment of ‘what’s wrong why aren’t they screaming.’ When we went to wake up the boys (ha, US waking THEM up), we wanted to give them cookies and a big cake! They settled for the boob but were equally as happy with the compromise.

Well done boys, now keep up the good work!

4 months old – here are the stats

Monday, October 16th, 2006

Both boys are 17 pounds each. That’s the 78th percentile for weight.
They are about 25 inches long, which is the 38th percentile.
And their big 17 inch noggins make the 80th percentile.

They are both super healthy and happy, as you can see in the video below.
